Advent is a Homecoming: Meditations on Incarnation, Homelessness, and Everything Else
**ALL PROCEEDS SUPPORT THE SANCTUARY SUPPLY DEPOT IN MINNEAPOLIS**
"Advent is a homecoming; God makes home among us and calls us back home to ourselves and to each other. This has implications for how we understand homelessness, yes, but perhaps more importantly it impacts how we see ourselves and everyone we share space, time, and breath with."
If you're looking for something to guide you through this tumultuous advent season toward hope, peace, joy, and love, look no further. Advent is a Homecoming is part advent-devotional and part street-zine, blending essays, artwork, poetry, and more to reflect on the themes of Advent for our world today, with a special focus on the wisdom of people who have experienced marginalization and oppression, and homelesness in particular.
The project is divided into four weeks, with an essay, art, reflection questions, affirmations, and a prayer for each week around that week's theme (Hope & Faith, Peace, Joy, and Love.) There is an additional piece for Homeless Day of Remembrance, which takes place on December 21st. In total there are 50 pages of content.
Pay What You Want: there is a suggested donation of $12 and a minimum donation of $5. (See below if you need it cheaper.) Once you complete the transaction you can download as many times as you want, and the PDF is not protected. You can print it and share it as much as you like. My only ask is that you factor in your projected sharing into your donation; if you plan to use this in a large group space, there is no need to have everyone purchase their own copy, but please consider a larger donation--every penny of which is going to support unhoused people with life-saving needs in Minneapolis as Winter arrives.
NOTE: If for any reason you would like a copy of this but find that payment is an obstacle, please reach out to Kevin via his website and he will get you a free copy. You don't have to justify or explain why, just ask and it will be sent to you asap.
We really hope you enjoy this. Please share widely, and leave a review here on Gumroad after you've finished it.
